Exalting the Word of our Heavenly Father

Liberty

If there is one word above all others which answers to the basic need and want of man, would it not be liberty?  Liberty---freedom---that basic element which has its roots in the heart of man, a treasure which has been sought, bought, fought for, the possession of which no man will part with for any price nor count any price too high for its mere possession.  Liberty, the promoter of happiness, peace, prosperity, unity in diversity, cannot be measured in its entirety nor treasured beyond its worth.  Liberty, in its complete and comprehensive state, takes nothing which is not its own and ever takes to give of its own fullness, unsparingly, and to all who so choose her.  To do else, it cannot; to do less, is to violate its very purpose and consequentially, its own existence.  Liberty is the gift of God to man, a right given by God which no one has the right to take from another.  Liberty is life.

The Law of ten commandments given by God to man is a Law of Liberty, a hedge of protection.  To break this Law is to take from man that which our Father God has given us---life, liberty, property, and all life's blessings.

Any religion or government that is oppressive, coercive, unjust, tyrannical, or cruel, is of the devil.

There is one great truth we all do well to remember; it is this:  True freedom lies within the proscriptions of the eternal Law of God, Creator of heaven and earth.

"Our Founding Fathers, for whom the knowledge of the centuries of tyranny that had preceded them was vivid and acute, were guided in the creation of our political and economic system by that knowledge; virtually every decision they made was to bind the state in chains to protect the individual's freedom of thought, choice, and action."  A Time For Truth/William E. Simon

The written command of our heavenly Father is found in Isaiah 58:

  • "loose the bands of wickedness;
  • Undo the heavy burdens;
  • Let the oppressed go free;
  • Break every yoke;
  • Deal thy bread to the hungry;
  • Bring the poor that are cast out to thy house;
  • When thou seest the naked that thou cover him;
  • Hide not thyself from thine own flesh."

The promise follows:

"Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily:  and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of Yahwah shall be thy rereward."  Isaiah 58:8

The greatest liberty is freedom from sin.  This freedom is free to all who choose to be made free through Yahshua Messiah.

It is written:

"Whosoever committeth sin is the slave of sin."  John 8:34

"Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?"  Romans 6:16

It is thus that we need to understand correctly the plan of salvation, for there are many deceivers who know not the way of truth and righteousness.

"While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption:  for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage."  2 Peter 2:19

"Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."  John 8:32

Even when oppressed by government, by a religio-political system, or by another man, one may yet experience perfect freedom, perfect peace, perfect rest in Yahshua Messiah.

"If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed."  John 8:36
